What is NICEIC?
The National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) is an accredited certification body. It was set up to protect users of electricity against the hazards of unsafe and unsound electrical installations and is the industry's independent electrical safety regulatory body.
The NICEIC’s mission is to register as many electrical contractors as possible that are able to comply with its rules. Before being put onto the roll of approved contractors, contractors must complete a detailed assessment by the NICEIC which includes an assessment of the technical standard of their electrical work.
The NICEIC is fully independent and consumers can be assured that all installation work carried out by an NICEIC Approved Contractor will meet electrical safety requirements.
